Governor Tommy's Message
South Carolina Optimist
Family,
Thank you for the honored
privilege that you have given me - the opportunity to be your Governor in
Optimism for the 2009-2010 year. I have a strong commitment for the
purposes of this organization, and I am proud of the people who serve and
of those we serve. This year is all about growth - growth for our South
Carolina Optimist District and for Optimist International.
We have a mission ahead of
us which requires a strong willingness to prevail. My mission for South
Carolina is to grow in numbers so that we may serve more kids. After all,
this is what we as Optimists are all about! This year, the symbol is the "Eagle"
from which we obtain strength, power, and the ability to soar to greater
heights. As South Carolina Optimists, we need to work harder to build more
new clubs and to increase membership.
Our district sponsors
beneficial activities and has a great deal to offer the kids. Lets not
let them down! This year, Mark Shriver, President of Optimist
Internationals slogan states: "Promise
Yourself - For the Kids." I ask that you as Optimists promise yourself
to work hard for our South Carolina District and for the kids of our great
state. "Soar High to Serve Kids."
We can only go up from here. It will not be easy, but with effort, we will
succeed.
I appreciate those who have
chosen to serve with me, and I extend regards to those who we continue to
serve. It is time for South Carolina to take flight and soar! Build new
clubs, add new members, and bring new ideas. I look forward to working
with all of you and with this great district of South Carolina!
