Hello Fellow Optimists of the South Carolina District,

It gives me great pleasure to serve you this 2011-2012 Optimist year.  The International President’s motto is “Bringing Out the Best in Kids…100% and then some” and I have adopted “South Carolina Optimists Bring Out the Best in Kids…100% and then some” as our motto.

We will be starting our year with the first ever SCOD Retreat on October 22-23, that will provide team building activities, exciting games, good food, and fellowship.  District and Club Officers and District Committee Chairs are especially asked to attend; however, it is also open to all members.

Mark your calendars now: 2^nd Qtr Conference is tentatively scheduled for February at Myrtle Beach; 3^rd Qtr is tentatively scheduled for April in Columbia; Annual Convention is tentatively scheduled for August in Mt. Pleasant.  Dates are on District Meetings page of our website.

While serving the kids of South Carolina, one of our goals is to reduce the costs to members so more members can join in the training and fellowship at the District meetings.

Our Regional Vice President, Rose Kohler, has chosen “The Ready Rockets” as our region’s team name.  Let’s get the new year started with a BLAST at Lynches River County Park so that the South Carolina Optimists can ‘Bring Out the Best in Kids…100% and then some!”
